We got beaten up and had our Boxcar Children taken once. Not even kidding. #saddeststoryever.
Admit it, you hoarded these flyers in your room, painstakingly circling and starring the ones you wanted, you little word nerd.

Siiiiiiigh. Remember when these were the highlight of your life? No? God, I do.
I HATE REBLOGGING. BUT THIS IS SO WONDERFUL THAT I MUUUUUST REBLOOOOOG.
I love how in elementary school they pushed books so hard. This is probably why I have a book addiction today. ALL YOUR FAULT, CHEAP NEWSPRINT FLIER HAWKING CHEAP YET AWESOME BOOKS. (Also my enabling mother. COUGH.)
Point the First: I OWN Mary Anne Versus Logan. (This should come as no surprise - I own about 40 of these, most of them from Scholastic book flyers.)
Point the Second: Books from these flyers were really the only thing I could ask my parents for and be pretty sure they’d say yes. Between these and the book fairs that Scholastic regularly coordinated (for which I scrimped and saved every possible scrap of lunch money), I had so many books. And I loved each and every one.
And I still do, in point of fact.
My brother and I were talking about these things just the other day. I haven’t though about them in years.
<3 <3 <3 This is a tiny bit before my time, because February of ‘91 was my last year of pre-school, but these fliers really didn’t change much in the next few years. I would always get the BIGGEST box of books delivered of anyone in the class, because my mom was wonderful and supported my love of reading (especially when it was this cheap).
