The couple’s engagement announcement was previously featured in this blog.  I saw this image and remembered how fictional New York Mayor Mitchell Hundred did the same thing in Ex Machina as a political statement, against state law.  Less than 7 years later, real New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg gets to do it legally.  There’s still a long way to go, of course, but man, sometimes progress is really cool.
